June at the Clinic,
A Busy but Rewarding Month

Hello, I am Dr. Hong Ji-yeon of Yon Oriental Clinic.

It feels like June went by so incredibly fast. I originally planned to write about our herbal medicine cases, but I wanted to reach out with a personal post first to share how I spent my June and to hear how you all spent yours.

Looking back, this past June was a busy yet truly rewarding month.

Q&A

Is it okay to keep giving herbal medicine to my child?

Pediatric herbal prescription
Taking herbal medicine

With more children visiting our clinic recently, there are many questions parents frequently ask. "Is it okay to keep giving them herbal medicine?", "Aren't they too young for it?", "Is it safe regarding heavy metals?" I know you have many worries and questions about herbal medicine.

Starting with the conclusion: you can be rest assured. For your reference, I took herbal medicine throughout my entire pregnancy, and my baby had a very thick umbilical cord at birth! Also, I have been giving herbal medicine to my own children consistently since they were 5–6 months old.

It makes me so proud as a doctor to see parents happy when the medicine works well for their children. As a parent myself, there is so much I want to share about pediatric herbal medicine. I will elaborate on this in detail in a separate post very soon.

My Routine

Small but Certain Happiness,
Dr. Hong's June Routine

Nothing extraordinary happened,
but I spent the month keeping my own plans.

A relaxing cup of coffee
DAILY 01

Consistent Exercise

I set a goal to work out 3–4 times a week, and I managed to keep that commitment fairly well throughout June.

DAILY 02

Sweet Coffee Time

On my days off, I recharge my energy by enjoying iced instant coffee in my favorite mug, filled with plenty of ice.

DAILY 03

DIY Haircut for a Change

Suddenly tired of my bangs, I decided to trim them myself at home. I might need to visit a professional soon!

DAILY 04

Dining with Dear Friends

After a few years, I finally had a reunion lunch at a neat Korean restaurant with private rooms, where I received precious gifts and felt truly healed.

Joyful Moments

From Stationery Stores
to Desserts, Small Pleasures

Even amidst a busy schedule,
moments of returning to childhood
and sweet snacks gave me great strength.

Stationery store tour

Trip to a Large Stationery Store

I don't know why I get so excited at stationery stores, no matter how old I get. I spent hours browsing without even noticing the time.

Mint Choco Party

Spontaneous Mint Choco Party

I suddenly craved mint chocolate, so I ordered a variety of flavors and enjoyed them to my heart's content.

Self-trimming bangs

Impulsive Self-Cut

Without time to visit a salon, I picked up some scissors and bravely attempted to trim my own bangs—these are the results.

Ice cream cake

Trendy Ice Cream Cake

A cute gift of cube and Zanmang Loopy cakes! I heard they were very popular lately, and both my eyes and taste buds were delighted.
