Today, I would like to share the process of preparing hemp fabric pouches, which is the most fundamental step in our decoction preparation. At Yon Korean Medicine Clinic, we use hemp pouches to decoct our herbal medicines.

As these pouches are used for boiling and decocting, they wear out quickly and need to be replaced often. With the recent increase in decoction orders, our pouches have started to wear out one by one, so we have prepared a new batch. I have captured the preparation process briefly.

The First Step Toward Clean and Safe Decoction

What you see in the photo above are our pristine, beautiful hemp pouches. Yon Korean Medicine Clinic carefully selects and uses only safe products, where even the strings are made from 100% hemp.

We do not use the hemp pouches immediately upon purchase. They are only put into use for actual decoction after going through a thorough cleaning and boiling process.

Process

4-Step Hemp Pouch Preparation

Step 1

Thoroughly soak the dried
hemp pouches in water.

Step 2

Add plenty of baking soda
and wash every nook and cranny.

Step 3

Place them in the decoction unit,
add water and baking soda,
and boil them.

Step 4

After boiling for about 30 minutes,
rinse thoroughly under clean
running water and dry them.
